Description

Ingredients

  • 1½ tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ tsp xanthan gum (optional)

Instructions

  • Sauté garlic in olive oil over medium heat until fragrant.
  • Add chili flakes and paprika; bloom spices for 30 seconds.
  • Stir in brown sugar, vinegar, tomato paste, soy sauce, mustard, water, and salt.
  • Simmer for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Add xanthan gum if using and blend or whisk until smooth.
  • Let cool, then transfer to a clean jar. Store in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Adjust chili flakes to your heat preference.
  • Great as a wing glaze or sandwich spread.
