Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, then drain excess fat.
3. Stir in chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté for 3-4 minutes until onion softens.
4. Layer thinly sliced potatoes over the beef mixture in the baking dish. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
5. Top with shredded cheddar and Parmesan cheese. Pour beef broth around the edges to keep potatoes moist.
6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender.
Notes
Add vegetables such as bell peppers or mushrooms for extra flavor and nutrition.
Swap cheddar for mozzarella or Colby Jack for a different cheesy twist.
