Description

Tender beef slow-cooked to perfection, swimming in a rich, savory broth with hearty egg noodles. This comforting, melt-in-your-mouth dish is perfect for cozy nights, offering layers of flavor that will have you coming back for more!

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound beef stew meat

1 packet onion soup mix

2 cups beef broth

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1⁄2 teaspoon black pepper

8 ounces egg noodles

1⁄2 cup sour cream

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1⁄4 cup water

Instructions

1. Place the beef stew meat into the crockpot.

2. Sprinkle the onion soup mix evenly over the beef.

3. Pour the beef broth over the beef and soup mix in the crockpot.

4. Add the Worcestershire sauce to the crockpot.

5. Sprinkle the garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper over the mixture in the crockpot.

6. Stir everything together in the crockpot to combine the seasonings and liquid with the beef.

7. Cover the crockpot with the lid and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the beef is tender and easily shreds.

8. About 15 minutes before serving, cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions in a separate pot.

9. Drain the cooked noodles and set them aside.

10. In a small bowl, mix the sour cream, cornstarch, and water together until smooth.

11. Stir the sour cream mixture into the crockpot with the beef and broth.

12. Continue to cook for an additional 15 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken and the flavors to meld.

13. Once the sauce has thickened, stir in the cooked egg noodles.

14. Serve the beef and noodles immediately, ensuring the noodles are well coated in the creamy sauce.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider browning the beef stew meat in a skillet before adding it to the crockpot.

If you prefer a thicker sauce, increase the cornstarch by 1 teaspoon.

For added flavor, you can substitute beef broth with a combination of beef broth and a splash of red wine.

Feel free to use other types of noodles, such as wide egg noodles or pappardelle, for a different texture.

If you like a bit of heat, add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes when seasoning the beef.
