Description
Slow cooker chicken paprikash is a rich, creamy Hungarian-inspired dish with tender chicken, smoky paprika, and a tangy sour cream sauce.
Ingredients
6 bone-in skinless chicken thighs
1 large onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 ½ tablespoons Hungarian sweet paprika
1 cup chicken broth
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¾ cup sour cream
Instructions
Place onions and garlic in bottom of slow cooker.
Nestle chicken thighs on top and season with paprika, salt, and pepper.
Pour chicken broth over the top.
Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours.
Stir in sour cream 30 minutes before serving and let warm through.
Notes
Serve over egg noodles or dumplings.
For extra depth, add bell peppers or mushrooms.
Add cornstarch slurry if thicker sauce is desired.
